Other Considerations:
- Passport: Due to the fast and limited pre-departure timelines for the International Field School, students considering participation that do not have a valid passport or a renewal/new passport application in progress, must apply for a new passport or renew your current passport (your passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Japan immediately [E.g. May 11, 2025]).
- Group Experience: The International Field School component of the course, Doing Business Abroad, is an immersive ~2.5 week education abroad experience that will take place in Fall 2024 for an engaged group of students from the Maple League universities. The expected group size will be ~20 people, including students, staff, and faculty from Acadia & Kurume. The full group will travel and participate in the entire program together as a cohort.

- Value: up to $5,000 CAD for international field school related costs, plus course tuition

- Overview: The Doing Business Abroad Award is available thanks to the Marjorie Fountain Fund. This award is open to Acadia business students in their third or fourth year, enrolled in the course: Doing Business Abroad, BUSI 3783. The award is given to a student who has a demonstrated interest in world economies, global business practices, and work environments in a range of cultural contexts including societal and business norms in countries other than Canada.
- Scholarship Application Process: Please submit one PDF including your resume and cover letter. Applications are to be emailed to Kristin Williams, Director of F. C. Manning School of Business Administration. Students may apply or be nominated for the award. The cover letter should outline the candidate’s demonstrated interest in the opportunity and how they expect to develop personally, academically, and professionally as a result of their participation.
- Restrictions: Not available to students on academic probation and recipients must be a degree seeking student at Acadia University.
